in my Sport Psychology (HMES 3375) lecture last monday we have covered a little bit of Sport Injuries. our lecturer Bob Grove relates injuries accounted by athletes with how well they cope with it.
most of the time, young elite adults when they get injured they tend to aggress more (frustrated, angry). and this leads to depression (to some extend). this is basically because sport is part of their life, more so their daily routine, habits and all of these sum up to create their personality. their personality revolved around sport. so when these elite athletes couldn't participate or couldn't performance at max anymore, it is like there is no point of fighting. part of them is gone.
of course this is the extreme point of view, and overgeneralizing the issue. some athletes could cope with rehab programs and eventually get to the same level as they were before. so this is where sport psychology gets intensified. hehe.. blogging about this surely does makes me excited. well, we haven't finish the topic in Injuries yet.. so, i will update regarding this issue in the near future, InyaAllah (if i remember to get back to this, hehe).
by the way, speaking of habits and personality. it got me thinking. exercising most certainly what i do everyday. and it becomes a habit. previous lectures in this unit as well, we learnt that everything that has patterns, automicity, negative effect if not done and when there is a strong stimulus-response bond - is called a Habit. refering to the Psychologists - Dollard & Miller, "personality" is cluster of habits guiding behaviour.
so the point that i am getting at is that, exercising is a habit for me and my personality revolve around sport. by having said that, if i miss one workout session, i would be restless because it is just not me. NOW I UNDERSTAND WHY I GOT SO GRUMPY/OUT OF FOCUS WHEN I DON'T EXERCISE... hahaha.. alhamdulillah.. i understand abit more of myself from my course... that is nice.

one day, i thought i was at home; so eager to say goodmorning to my mother or give my niece Danisha a kiss. but when i went out from my room, i was in Perth.
one day, i thought Arifin was here, passing by, smelled his perfume; so excited, wanted to shout his name. but then, it was just some other guy who wore the same perfume
one day, i thought i was alright, so focused. then, i heard songs that brought so many memories. i became motionless and lost focus
one day, i thought i was doing the right thing, it turned out, it was a wrong turn
one day, i thought i could call my girls, and meet them up in exactly 15minutes. then, i realised we were oceans apart.
one day, i thought someone will be waiting for me to come home. someone is waiting, it is just that i am not 'home'.
one day, i thought i could pull my self together. then i shattered back to pieces.
one day, i thought i could say anything i want. turned out, bad act.
... one day, just hope it is just one day...

i went to the city again today. massive sales going on right now since winter is coming soon. winter sales is always during autumn. so, when winter comes, winter clothings are redicolously expensive. so~~~ there was this one sport shop named A Mart. 30% off for all item.
i found a swimming suit, exactly like mine and cost ~$46. i bought mine last semester for $89. that swimming suit that i have is abit eroded now by the chlorine. my maid didn't wash it properly when i was on my summer holiday in Brunei. i just had to buy a new one. perfect timing!!!
then i saw this jacket. it was love at first sight

i tried it on. it fits perfectly. it Brunei, this jacket might cost around $120 or more. I GOT IT FOR ~$70!!! boy was i happy.
owh yeah, i am still on my study break.. which will end this weekend. so far, i've been enjoying myself, really. i've watched lots of episodes on SouthPark, CSI, went on youtubes, went out to the city, eat out, shop, sent a card to Arifin :).
alhamdulillah, this is the first study break that i actually had a break from study; hence 'study break' D'uh~~ haha..

Mila told that she wants to shop for smart-looking outfit for her teaching-training program. she is from Melbourne and don't know where to go to shop in Perth. so~~~ i excitedly volunteered myself to accompany her shopping today.
owh yeah, we were rushing, and i parked my car in the middle of the shopping centre. and people thought that there was a car exhibition. owh well, i decided to give them some moments

i brought Mila to HarbourTown since she has been there before. that girl got so excited~~ hahahaa.. we spent about 5 hours there and Mila was having a ball. she bought everything she needs. she was suprised how productive the day has been. and she thanked me for it~ hehehe anytime girl~
i didn't shop today, i set my mind that i would pay full attention to Mila's shopping desire. haha..
owh yes, early this morning at 7.30 i conducted an aerobics class (residents only) in StCats. it was fun. but once again, morning workouts = BAD IDEA (for me that is). my body feels so weak immediately after that session. well, it was not me who suggested to have a morning class. the freshers did. and guess what??? THOSE FRESHERS DIDN'T TURN UP!!!!!! pffftttttt!!!

saturday it is starting to get cold now, and waking up at 5am every weekends is not the things that i look forward to.
on my way to work.
well~ i didn't take a picture of them, so this would give you a rough idea. i saw this group of cyclists cycling together along the main road. honestly the look like ducks. i mean, they chatted among themselves and moves smoothly along the road, hence like ducks swimming and quacking to other ducks.. hahahhaa..
sunday
while i was doing my job, a lady went in with a trolley filled with flu vaccination. she said to me simply "hai there, would you like to have flu vaccination?" i was like "boy, that is something you don't get asked that often~" hahahaa.. as usual i my reaction was like "whhhh sorry what did you say??" and i continued "is this free?".. hahaha.. so i got it. so i'm flu-free or which ever you want to put it.
eventhough it was hard to get out of bed, i still love my job.

thursday last midsem today. it was fine, i know the answer but not enough time to think and put my thoughts into words. owh well~ i wrote all i could in the limited time
friday Ron wanted to destress. so we went to city and Harbour town. :) Ron bought a smoking hot jacket and a nice pair of NIKE shoes. :p owh, did is just gave NIKE a complement???? :p
we grabbed a bite.

apparently Ron was camera-shy
hmmmmm... Ron, time flew so fast today. we sat and talked for almost an hour!! hehe it was pleasant though. ask me out again sometime nextweek "if" today's destressing was not enough :)
by the way, Ron gave me a fabulous gift. a perfect gift from a friend - an organiser. not just any organiser
it has motivational mini-posters as the front cover

weekly planner

inpiring words on every page

to-do list page, and schedule page

and lastly, contact lists

seriously, this could be the a perfect birthday gift from you Ron!!! hahaha. this is the best organiser i ever came across. if you know me well enough, you probably know why i'm crazy about this book.
thanks Ron!!!!!

for HMES 2260 exercise physiology gym class today, we did "Fit2Break". when i first heard that name i was like, "no way i'm going to do break dance"
then, i went into the exercise hall, i saw Lee, one of the constestant from SoYouThinkYouCanDance, Australia.
then, he played all this R&B, hip hop music; the kind of music Nyarai and I listen to. so i was like... hmm
mmmmm... maybe this class is not that bad after all.
so, yeah.. Lee thought us some hiphop dance moves. it was fun and easy for me to follow because Nyarai told me some moves as we listen to her music. also, i joined alot of aerobic classes when i was in teens. well, it is like aerobic, but instead of using one beat, Fit2Break is done more up-to-date and interesting tunes.
fast moving exericses with music is like second nature to me.
so we've learned the basic moves; move according to the beat. obviously nothing like Usher, Justin T, or PussyCatDolls moves. this class is so much better than ballroom dancing because Fit2Break is done without a partner.
lastly, Lee told us how to "FREEZE". you
know what i mean~ FREEZE breakdance style; palms facing the floor, legs freezed horizontally to the side. and NO, i didn't manage to do it. :p
actually, this class is what i've been waiting for. apparently last year, the physical activity for this unit was solely on Aerobics. i was mentally and physically prepared for it. i even bought aerobics CDs with Arifin early this year.
so this year, this unit's physical activity is based on group fitness. so far we did weight training, circuit, drills and Fit2Break. basically, we are going to be assessed on how well we instruct our collegues to do whatever they want to achieve in the end. by having said that, we plan a program that matches with their interest.
i guess not having a class solely on aerobic is not bad afterall.

MONDAY = FANTASTICi had one of the midsem exam this morning, huge smile before, during and after. for the very first time MCQ questions didn't screw my mind. also, i enjoyed answering the structured questions. immediately after, i went to a Chemist store in subiaco to buy supplements
i bought this one before. just over 2 weeks, it ran out
so i upgraded it

without this i can't enjoy my workouts.
at the chemist counter, there was one person infront of me unattended, apparently he got some problems. so, i saw a good friend of mine, Sarah. she was on duty so she put me through first.
lunch at St Cats was pleasing,
workout was great.
just before dinner, i've asked Mila (english literature extraordinaire~) to read through my newspaper article, she told me that my article didn't make sense especially for the public. apparently it was too scientific. so, i didnt waste time freaking out. went straight to the problem and solve it.
i had a light chat with Arifin while i was fixing my article :)
... liking monday ...
TUESDAY
so one midsem exam and article assignment done, ONE MORE midsem exam TO GO!!! then i will enjoy my STUDY BREAK.. wohooooo!
so, revision mode - intensified
... bring it on ...
