for HMES 2260 exercise physiology gym class today, we did "Fit2Break". when i first heard that name i was like, "no way i'm going to do break dance"
then, i went into the exercise hall, i saw Lee, one of the constestant from SoYouThinkYouCanDance, Australia.
then, he played all this R&B, hip hop music; the kind of music Nyarai and I listen to. so i was like... hmm
mmmmm... maybe this class is not that bad after all.
so, yeah.. Lee thought us some hiphop dance moves. it was fun and easy for me to follow because Nyarai told me some moves as we listen to her music. also, i joined alot of aerobic classes when i was in teens. well, it is like aerobic, but instead of using one beat, Fit2Break is done more up-to-date and interesting tunes.
fast moving exericses with music is like second nature to me.
so we've learned the basic moves; move according to the beat. obviously nothing like Usher, Justin T, or PussyCatDolls moves. this class is so much better than ballroom dancing because Fit2Break is done without a partner.
lastly, Lee told us how to "FREEZE". you
know what i mean~ FREEZE breakdance style; palms facing the floor, legs freezed horizontally to the side. and NO, i didn't manage to do it. :p
actually, this class is what i've been waiting for. apparently last year, the physical activity for this unit was solely on Aerobics. i was mentally and physically prepared for it. i even bought aerobics CDs with Arifin early this year.
so this year, this unit's physical activity is based on group fitness. so far we did weight training, circuit, drills and Fit2Break. basically, we are going to be assessed on how well we instruct our collegues to do whatever they want to achieve in the end. by having said that, we plan a program that matches with their interest.
i guess not having a class solely on aerobic is not bad afterall.
