few years of exposing myself to health and fitness i came across with this statement - 'morning workout increases metabolism and energizes the body that would last throughout the day'
i could't recall from where, probably through health channel, health megazines, articles. i thought i should give this statement a shot. so i workout one morning; i did 15 minutes of treadmiles, few minutes of skipping, a couple of set doing sit-ups, push-ups, bridge and whole lot of strecthing afterwards. well basically the type of workout i normally do everyday, in the late afternoon.
my first trial, not good. my body was tired, not driven to do work and focusness was down the drain. i consulted a PhD student in Human Movement, JayLee who is so happen to be a resident in St Cats. i told her about my experiment and the results i had. in summary she said to me that it is normal to feel tired as the body has not warmed up to the morning workouts and i would be better off after a week or so.
i then gave it a try few days later. same results from the first. i didn't stop there. today, i gave it another try (probably the last), same results. i do understand that some routine doesn't work with everybody.
in constrast, when i think back of the results i've got from my initial workout routine - late afternoon sessions - i was focus, energized, happy, everything was just great. so, this works for me and i am going to stick with it.
