i went to Verve right last Monday. overall it was a good cardio workout. but it was not a good start. prior to my cardio, i had a 30 minutes session with a personal trainer, PT. i was not happy with her.
firstly, she wasn't aware of my safety. i was introduced to use this new machine call "Gravity Tension.. something" it basically works against our own body weight. so there i was having difficulty pulling my own body weight against gravity without being assisted. the PT just sat next to me, doing the same workout. c'mon!! it is PERSONAL training session. it is very 1-on-1 session with the client, weren't she suppose to be aware of my safety???
secondly, we are using our own body weight. she didn't even ask me what are the normal weight i use to lift say for lat-pull-down/tricep pushdown/bicep curls. ok, let me give an example. say i normally lift 25kg for bicep curls. for that exercise with PT that day, i was using my bodyweight which is doubled that amount. i told her that i was struggling, but she completely ignored me and simply said "6 more!!"
what if she has a client who is overweight!!
Personal Training session is all about the client doing the workout in a safe condition possible, not PT having an extra workout! what if i pull a muscle or hurt myself? i will sue her ass for sure!
Thanks to her, i couldn't go to the gym for 2 days. i was glad i extended my stretching time and did cardio so that my body was not in shock. if not i won't be able to exercise for more than 4 days.
