i've chatted with one of the new residents here in St Catherine's during breakfast one day. she asked me about what course i take. i basically told her "sport science". then she asked further "so what you guys actually do/learn at uni and and turn out to be in the end of this course?" so i explained briefly. her next sentence changed my view regarding my future career. she said casually "so you are going to change people's lives..."
seriously, i have never thought of it that way. i always think of my profession as a coach would be to train and keep athletes/untrained people fit. it had never cross my mind that i might save (to some extend) and change someone's life - obesed people for instance. it certainly opened up my eyes and give more appreciation to whatever i learn at uni. like Dato Dr Fadhilah Kamsah said in one of his motivational talks "
belajar untuk mengajar" which means "whatever we learn, we teach to others".
it just brighten up my day re-thinking about that breakfast session.
