what hold us back from doing what we do best? Why in life people move further away from their passion? these were a couple of questions asked in my Coaching Psychology lecture.
some of the reasons:
1. people afraid to change.
the truth is, the type of person you were as a kid is still in you. it is just that, that attitude has grow as you age. say for example, as a kid you don't like your toys got mixed up with your little sister. as an adult now, you are an organised person.
2. we worry about our weaknesses too much. we focus on how to improve our weaknesses most of the time.
remember when we were kids, when some of us scored 'A's in English and History then, failed in Math. all parents spent hundreds of dollars to improve that grade; try to push it to A as well. it is nature i guess. parents wanted us to be best in everything.
but this is not how it should be. we should focus on our strengths so that we could be drawn towards what we love doing in the future.
sure, you want to work on the weaknesses you have, but spend alot effort and time to grow, exploit your strengths not the other way round. if you keep close what you love, you can't go wrong in life.
